For LaWanna Harrod being in the presence of God is like breathing. Multifaceted, her talents are many. She is a mother, minister, author, philanthropist, coveted mentor--providing help and wisdom for the lost - an issue Evangelist Harrod is all too familiar with herself.
For more than twenty years, Evangelist LaWanna Harrod was bound as a result of childhood abuse which crippled every area of her life which caused her to become stuck. After seeking the Lord earnestly, she yielded to His delivering power. God delivered her and 1991 He gave her the vision of Christian Sistahs with specific insructions to go get those who were bound by the traps and lies of the enemy of abuse. As the Founder and Director of Christian Sistahs, Evangelist Harrod is committed to the ongoing healing and deliverance of those who are struggling with issues of abuse, past and/or present.
No longer bound, she has yielded to the instruction and direction of God and is the founder and Director of Christian Sistahs, a foundation that provides healing and restoration for those struggling issues of abuse. In particular, the mandate for Christian Sistah is to assist women, homeless, battered, teenage mothers and those living in shelters. With an emphasis of deliverance as its core, Christian Sistahs have discovered that through a unique type of fellowship, women can experience healing, the unction of the Spirit and restorative grace.
Harrod's most recent accomplishment is receiving an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree from Abundant Life Bible College and Theological Seminary of Port St. Lucia Florida. She is the author of many books and is also an accomplished psalmist and Praise & Worship Leader. Dr. Harrod resides in Washington, DC with her beloved husband and two children.

The mission of Christian Sistahs is to assist women with self-realization. We equip women, through prayer, to realize their uniqueness and increase their ability to strive for excellence. Christian Sistahs seeks to expand opportunities and improve the ability of women to make sound choices in all aspects of their life by helping them discover who they really are and thereby equipping them for service. By keeping Christ as the focus, this will ensure that all women will be handled with compassion, kindness, and patience by Christian Sistahs.

The vision of Christian Sistahs is for women to come together and restore the family to function. Each member will then be able to fulfill their God-given potential. This will be accomplished by providing education, counseling, and support as we work together with other organizations to achieve a firm committed goal. Further, all women will be nurtured by Christian women of all backgrounds, diversities, and worship styles. We have women's Bible studies groups, small support groups, seminars, retreats, conferences, etc. that are geared especially women and their families.
